Resources
The Ahmanson Library is designed to serve the K-12 student body with print, Internet, and multimedia resources including access to the online catalog and subscription online databases. Computers, printers, a scanner, video and slide viewing, cassette machines, and a photocopier are available for educational purposes. (Note: Use of the photocopier requires the purchase of a $1.00 (10 copies), $5.00 (50 copies), or $10.00 (100 copies) Copicard.)
Circulation Policies
Most materials can be checked out for a two week period. Reference materials and materials which have been put on a temporary special reserve to support class projects may not be checked out. Back issues of periodicals may be checked out. Overdue notices are sent to your advisor for distribution. Fines are ten cents for each school day and continue to accrue until the material is returned. Users are charged for lost materials. Yearbooks will not be distributed to any user with outstanding fines or unreturned materials.
Web Site
The Ahmanson Library's web site can be accessed from Campbell Hall's home page. The site includes the online library catalog, resources for elementary and secondary students, access to the online subscription databases, the MLA bibliographic citation guide, book suggestions, research "cheat sheets" for class projects and more.
Databases
Online subscription databases provide full-text newspaper and magazine articles, Britannica Online encyclopedia, statistical information, current facts, photos and other artwork, maps, radio and t.v. transcripts, and much more. The databases include both archival materials and the most recent publications. Databases can be accessed from any school networked computer as well as from home. Use from home requires usernames and passwords that are available on the student intranet ("accessing online databases from home") or in print on a library handout.
Bibliographic Citations
A MLA Bibliographic Citation example handout is available in the library and is also posted on the library website. Please ask a librarian if you have any citation or plagiarism concerns or questions.
Library Staff
Please feel free to contact any of the library staff for research assistance, reading recommendations, technology help, Internet research ideas, database use or with book recommendations.

Library Use by Students in Junior High Study Hall
During Study Hall students may request the following passes from the Study Hall teacher:
· Quick Library Pass (orange) to be used for book check-out only. Please return to Study
Hall as soon as you have checked out your book. Only one (1) of these passes may be
issued at any given time.
· Library Passes (yellow) to be used for project work (that has been pre-approved with a
pass from the subject area teacher and must necessitate the use of library reserve
materials). Only two (2) of these passes may be issued at any given time.
Students must check in with a Librarian at the Circulation Desk upon arrival at the Library and
turn the Pass in. Students must return immediately to Study Hall upon completion of library work,
so that others may also utilize the library facilities. Students will need to stop by the Circulation
Desk to pick up the Pass and to have it signed by a Librarian, before returning to Study Hall.
